Peterborough Drought Ready Group
What Are We?
We are dedicated to supporting the Peterborough SA community and surrounding towns through the highs and lows of drought. Our group provides support, networking, and promotes well-being during challenging times and celebrates successes during better times.
Our Goal
Recognising that we are currently experiencing one of the longest and most severe droughts on record in South Australia, we aim to offer support, share ideas, knowledge, skills, and foster resilience within our community. We also want to prepare for future droughts by focusing on what we can do in good times to be ready for the next challenge.
Meet Our CoFounders
Bridget Woods, a long-time local with extensive agricultural knowledge and skills, and Eileen Martin, who brings committee experience and strong networking abilities. Both share a passion for our small community and are committed to helping Peterborough and the surrounding district navigate these tough times with a positive outlook.
Our Inspiration
The idea for this group was born from a casual chat at the local watering hole. It gained momentum when Dawson Hall Inc. held a PISRA grant event—the Beyond the Paddock BBQ Breakfast in February 2025—where Bridget brought the concept to life.
